Jewelry is more than just an accessory – it holds stories, emotions, and timeless values. The exhibition The Soul of Jewelry celebrates the art of jewelry-making, its deep traditions, and the artists who bring it to life.
Bringing together artists from different generations, this exhibition highlights unique craftsmanship and personal styles. Jewelry artists are like alchemists, transforming raw materials through skill and patience into wearable art. Each piece is a result of precision, dedication, and a deep understanding of metal, fire, water, and air.
Jewelry-making is a dance between the artist and the material – a process that requires years of learning and mastery. The workshop is their universe, where science, creativity, and craftsmanship come together. Chemistry, physics, and mathematics play as much a role in the process as imagination and artistry.
More than decoration, jewelry speaks in symbols, telling stories that connect the maker and the wearer. Though we may not see the countless hours of work behind a piece, we can feel its message and meaning.
This exhibition offers a glimpse into the world of jewelry-making and the minds of its creators. Featured artists include Julia Maria Künnap, Maria Valdma Härm, Kristiina Laurits, Indrek Ikkonen, the artists of Roman Tavast, Dr. Kärt Summatavet, and fashion designer Kirill Safonov.
The Soul of Jewelry is a prelude to a major exhibition featuring 54 Estonian jewelry artists. The Forest Whispers / Metsä kuiskaa will open in May at the Finnish Watch and Jewellery Museum Kruunu.
