Edith Karlson Solo Exhibition Dawn till Dawn Opens at Kiasma

Friday 17.04.2026 to Sunday 27.09.2026
Kiasma, Mannerheiminaukio 2, Helsinki

On 17 April 2026, a solo exhibition by Estonian artist Edith Karlson, titled Dawn till Dawn (Sarastus), opens at Kiasma, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki. The exhibition is curated by Piia Oksanen.

The project builds on ideas first developed for the Venice Biennale, where Karlson represented Estonia in 2024. The exhibition brings together large-scale, immersive installations featuring monumental figures, a towering skeleton, and a symbolic “army” moving toward its inevitable fate.

Karlson draws inspiration from prehistory, fossils, and archaeology, exploring themes of instinct, survival, and adaptation shared by humans and animals.

Kiasma is one of the leading contemporary art museums in the Nordic region, attracting around 250,000 visitors annually. The exhibition will remain open until 27 September 2026.
