Experience a breathtaking evening of music as two grand choral masterpieces. Misatango by Martín Palmer and Õhtu ilu (The Beauty of Evening) by Pärt Uusberg, come to life on May 16 at Helsinki’s iconic Temppeliaukio Church.
In the church’s world-renowned acoustics, an international ensemble of more than 100 singers from four choirs, a full orchestra, and soloists from Finland, Estonia, France, and Germany will unite for a powerful performance. Estonian bandoneon virtuoso Kaspar Uljas leads the tango rhythms, accompanied by the mezzo-soprano Maarja Purga and pianist Samuel Bezzerra. The string section features the acclaimed Encanto Tango Band from Finland.
Adding vibrant movement to the evening, the Finnish-Estonian folk dance group Helsingi Helmed will take the stage, while vocal harmonies will be performed by the ITL Mixed Choir (Estonia), the Finnish-Estonian choir Siller, the Hyvinkää Labor Choir, and the Chamber Choir of the University of Helsinki’s Department of Music.
